HOW DO WE SUPPORT RESPONSIBLE TOURISM?

By looking beyond our budget & paying closer attention to the negative impact that travel can have on any given region, TL Travel makes changes & decisions to ensure that our travelers enjoy the region, culture & environment of their visit in a non-destructive way. Some of the ways that we do this include:

  • Encouraging travelers to purchase locally produced food/drink, & souvenirs made by local artists
  • Use of public transit where available
  • Partnerships with locally run, eco-friendly boutique hotels
  • Offering volunteer experiences that promote giving back to the local community
  • Avoiding the exploitation of animals & endangered species

WHAT IS OUR ECONOMIC RESPONSIBILITY?

The tourism industry generates both substantial economic benefits to its host countries & can be impacted greatly by where travelers choose to spend their dollar. Responsible tourism is not just about the environment, but about the people who live within that environment as well. TL Travel designs its trips to support local communities in many ways. Some of these ways include:

  • Recommending local shops & restaurants in our TL Travel interactive itineraries.
  • Booking transportation & accommodations through locally owned businesses.
  • Hiring local guides & partners for TL Travel day-trips & tours.

WHO DO WE WORK WITH?

TL Travel is proud to partner with a number of amazing Eco-hotels & tour operators around the world. Elephant Nature Park has been involved in dozens of rescues which have created their thriving elephant herd. The park provides a natural environment for elephants, dogs, cats, buffaloes & many other animals under their care.

Volunteers & visitors of the Elephant Nature Park contribute to healing while learning about the lives of the Elephants both past & present.

The Pacuare Lodge is nestled in a Costa Rican rainforest overlooking the Pacuare River; one of the worlds top ten most scenic rivers.

Getting to this exquisite eco-lodge is half the adventure, as you arrive & depart as part of a multi-day rafting tour on the Pacuare River.

All of the staff at the Pacuare Lodge are from local communities & the lodge itself was built with a minimum impact on the surrounding forest & river.
